Sowing

Strength has been instilled in my bones,
It's who I am,
Who I always was.

I never did let that part of me slide,
Strong grows within my heart and soul,
It never did let go.

Mum sowed that within us long ago,
Long before she was called home,
Left us here all alone.

Up above she flies,
Burning bright,
She never did depart,
I can still feel the love she gave me,

It swelters within my heart.

If you have shoes on your feet, Food in your stomach, A roof over your head, Love in your heart, A brain in your head, You are luckier than most. Don't lose hope, You can choose which direction you go, Even if it feels wrong, When you fall, Pick yourself back up off the floor, You know the correct way to go.

Father

Everyday a new day, The fearlessness has become alive deep inside, It’s returned once again. Something about me, Makes him awaken, From his deep sleep. He once said ‘You are the most like her’ Me being me... ‘Why? Am I telling you off and you think I am annoying?’ Him: ‘No. She was a lady and I never thought she was annoying’ Any compliment he ever gave me, Well before he was sick, Before the trauma of Mum’s death, I batted each and every compliment away, A seasoned pro. Now I think back with regret and remorse, Why did I have to be that way? I would do anything to go back in time and say ‘Thank you! I love you!’ Once upon a time, He said ‘Mary-Kate is the cross one! Everyone says so!’ I was perplexed, I’ve never seen myself this way. Maybe I was, Is it because when I do not smile I look scary?
